Coordinated by the University of Pavia and the IRCCS Don Gnocchi Foundation, focuses on the pivotal task of clinical translation and innovation. Mission 1 aims to run extensive, in terms of number of patients and/or duration, mono- or multi-centric, clinical trials using healthcare robots or personal care robots that are currently available or will be adapted or developed by the consortium

“The use of robots allows us to expand the potential of medicine, to extend care in a democratic way. For me, rehabilitating a person means giving them a chance. It means giving them the chance to overcome their motor, sensory and cognitive limitations and, in some cases, to return to the state they were in before the event that caused their injury. With our robots, we are doubling the effectiveness of neuromotor rehabilitation”.

So says Irene Giovanna Aprile, head of the neuromotor rehabilitation department at the Fondazione Don Gnocchi, in the interview conducted by Agnese Pellegrini in the February issue of BenEssere Magazine, edited by Eliana Liotta.
